Loyalty and Cosmetics – Are Expensive Makeup Brand’s Worth the Money?
So I have loyalty in my blood – I am a cancer, after all. I consider it a goal in life to find the PERFECT brand/designer/store/etc for each item that I purchase. Sure, I LIKE shopping, but I LOVE getting nice things. That’s the point right?
Once I find this perfect supplier for all my individual needs, I can look forward to their new collections, their sales, their events etc and shut out all the less-than-fabulous other options. Some say I would be limited my choices too much, but if you’ve ever read the “Paradox of Choice“, you know that sometimes limiting your options is far more rewarding than having too many options.
(Note: This is not the same as having too much of a good thing. A peroxide princess’s motto is always… “Too much of a good thing can be a really good thing”, i.e. bleach)
SO anyways, I am working on finding the best cosmetics company. I have purchased makeup from so many different companies, with varying results. My main questions is: are the expensive brands worth the money? I know the feeling I get when I purchase expensive makeup. I feel like I am treating myself. But am I really tricking myself?
I was talking to a gorgeous peroxide princess today and she was explaining her makeup routine to me. I was CERTAIN that she shopped at Dior and Chanel for all her makeup needs. Her skin looked flawless (she said it wasn’t really), her eyeshadow popped, her lips looked smooth and juicy.
“Revlon”, she said. I couldn’t help it, I replied back, “drugstore!?”. I hope she didn’t take that as an insult because it was actually a huge compliment in disguise.
So I am asking my Kaboodle friends if they find the expensive makeup to be worth the money. I am anticipating mixed results.
The real problem is the guesswork. With department store makeup, I can “try it before I buy it”. I suppose you can do that with drugstore makeup too but that is considered “stealing” and not “customer service”, so I don’t recommend it.
And a little bling…
Inspired by an e-mail from Shopbop.com, I decided I had to have this outfit.
When it is cold outside I am always at a loss for what to wear. Well, a fur coat on top of course, but what can I wear out that will be sexy but still warm? My current wardrobe tends to keep my legs, my arms, and/or my cleavage – very cold.
A quick check on my Crackberry revealed that my current lust was going to set me back a mortgage payments. I had to find an alternative and pleasantly found a whole bunch of fashion bling:
The sweatshirt in the first picture isn’t something I would EVER buy if I saw it on the shelf. But it sure is cute paired with the gold top! I’d try a cheaper version (the one above is $295).
This one is prettier – and only $45

This is my first post from my Blackberry! I am officially a Crackberry Princess!
Feel Good Fabulous – Realistic Faux Fur Coats!
A fur coat is a staple in a bombshell’s wardrobe. You need the perfect topper for a cocktail dress. Unfortunately, the fur industry is cruel and unusual and we don’t want to make animals victims of our vanity. With http://www.fabulousfurs.com ‘s collection, you can purchase realistic but cruelty-free jackets, vests, and coats. This one is the Smokey Fox Ruffle Detail Faux Fur. Even if you don’t have cocktail dress to wear under this, it would look great with skinny jeans and top for a rock and roll look. Try ankle boots and black skinny jeans. Don’t forget your aviators!
