What To Buy Now – Cropped Jeans and Tall Boots

February 11, 2009 by Mallory

It is warming up outside, so of course, it takes all my strength to not go blow my entire Spring wardrobe budget right now! It will get cold again here in Michigan so little flirty dress will do me no good until May. Instead, why not get something you can wear now and repurpose it for later?

I love knee high boots with jeans. Dark denim is a great investments, as is a black knee high boot. Plus they go great together! Skinny jeans are all the rage, but if you get a cropped style now for under the boots, you’ll have a casual piece to wear with strappy sandels later!

Some ideas for the jeans…

Citrine Convertible Skinny Jeans
These ones are at Charlotte Russe so they are especially affordable!

Next you need a good knee high boot…

Loeffler Emmy D-Ring Boot in Olive
This pair is a good investment. High quality and super sexy! The Loeffler Emmy D-Ring Boot. It is a more toned down version and can probably be worn for a variety of occasions.

I prefer NOT toned down however…

I LOVE these. I found these at endless. They are super hot and affordable. Problem with Endless is that they have free next day shipping so there is INSTANT gratification. Makes them hard to not buy… ok, I will!

Valentine’s Day Outfit

Your choice for a Valentine’s Day outfit depends on your evening plans…

Out to Dinner with the DH or BF Today is the peroxide princess’s day to shine. No time for cute or quirky. Valentine’s day is about two things – spending time with the love of your life and rocking his world with your signature over-the-top sex appeal. Buy the sexiest red dress you can find (cliche you say? He doesn’t know that!) and spice it up with sky-high heels, a fluffy fur jacket to keep you warm, sexy lingerie underneath, and ultra long eyelashes to flutter at him.

Or, shall we just cut to the chase…

 Sexy Valentine's Day Lingerie

This outfit is gorgeous and will fit underneath a lot of red dresses! Surprise him! Plus this site has a lot of nice products and fast shipping!

Loyalty and Cosmetics – Are Expensive Makeup Brand’s Worth the Money?

January 27, 2009 by Mallory

So I have loyalty in my blood – I am a cancer, after all. I consider it a goal in life to find the PERFECT brand/designer/store/etc for each item that I purchase. Sure, I LIKE shopping, but I LOVE getting nice things. That’s the point right?

Once I find this perfect supplier for all my individual needs, I can look forward to their new collections, their sales, their events etc and shut out all the less-than-fabulous other options. Some say I would be limited my choices too much, but if you’ve ever read the “Paradox of Choice“, you know that sometimes limiting your options is far more rewarding than having too many options.

(Note: This is not the same as having too much of a good thing. A peroxide princess’s motto is always… “Too much of a good thing can be a really good thing”, i.e. bleach)

SO anyways, I am working on finding the best cosmetics company. I have purchased makeup from so many different companies, with varying results. My main questions is: are the expensive brands worth the money? I know the feeling I get when I purchase expensive makeup. I feel like I am treating myself. But am I really tricking myself?

I was talking to a gorgeous peroxide princess today and she was explaining her makeup routine to me. I was CERTAIN that she shopped at Dior and Chanel for all her makeup needs. Her skin looked flawless (she said it wasn’t really), her eyeshadow popped, her lips looked smooth and juicy.

“Revlon”, she said. I couldn’t help it, I replied back, “drugstore!?”. I hope she didn’t take that as an insult because it was actually a huge compliment in disguise.

So I am asking my Kaboodle friends if they find the expensive makeup to be worth the money. I am anticipating mixed results.

The real problem is the guesswork. With department store makeup, I can “try it before I buy it”. I suppose you can do that with drugstore makeup too but that is considered “stealing” and not “customer service”, so I don’t recommend it.

And a little bling…

Inspired by an e-mail from Shopbop.com, I decided I had to have this outfit.

goldoutfit

When it is cold outside I am always at a loss for what to wear. Well, a fur coat on top of course, but what can I wear out that will be sexy but still warm? My current wardrobe tends to keep my legs, my arms, and/or my cleavage – very cold.
A quick check on my Crackberry revealed that my current lust was going to set me back a mortgage payments. I had to find an alternative and pleasantly found a whole bunch of fashion bling:

The sweatshirt in the first picture isn’t something I would EVER buy if I saw it on the shelf. But it sure is cute paired with the gold top! I’d try a cheaper version (the one above is $295).

This one is prettier – and only $45 :)

Great faux fur coats at Fabulousfurs.com
Great faux fur coats at Fabulousfurs.com

A fur coat is a staple in a bombshell’s wardrobe. You need the perfect topper for a cocktail dress. Unfortunately, the fur industry is cruel and unusual and we don’t want to make animals victims of our vanity. With http://www.fabulousfurs.com ‘s collection, you can purchase realistic but cruelty-free jackets, vests, and coats. This one is the Smokey Fox Ruffle Detail Faux Fur. Even if you don’t have  cocktail dress to wear under this, it would look great with skinny jeans and top for a rock and roll look. Try ankle boots and black skinny jeans. Don’t forget your aviators!

A STEAL at $169. Honestly, at these prices, I don’t know why I am not wearing fur coats every day.

Maybe I will start…

Style.com’s Stylefile reports that Christina Aguilera may be taking Kate Moss’s  place as a model for Top Shop! With no disrespect to the beautfiul Kate Moss, she still no match for one of the ultimate Peroxide Princesses! Christina is a fashion and style idol to many of us out there (no matter what her hair color may be at the time). I hope the news is true because we’ll see even more coverage of her!
